Leave No Trace Master Educator
[/box]
Program Goals and Objectives
Designed for the Outdoor professional, this 50-hour course will train you to become a Leave No Trace Ambassador in the outdoor industry. You will consolidate the skills and techniques learned in the Trainer certification course (not mandatory to attend the Master Educator course but recommended) and will gain the necessary skills to be able to teach at the instructor training level.
Program Description
This 5-day course is designed to challenge you through various environments so you have the chance to practice different skills learned and to explore various aspects of the Leave No Trace program. You will learn the role and function of the Master Educators as well as developing your teaching styles through practical sessions with your peers. The first 2 days of the course will be spent at the PaddleFoot Lodge learning about Leave No Trace and building your Trainer course material. On the last 3 days of the course, we venture into Algonquin Park. You will be required to teach an activity session to your peers and will get the opportunity to receive feedback from your peers and instructors. Learning how to adapt your teaching while being in the backcountry is what makes the Master Educator Course an asset for anyone working in the outdoor industry.
Outcome
Upon completion of the course requirements, you will leave with a Master Educator certification, which allows you to teach Leave No Trace Trainer certifications. A Master Educator Handbook and Educator Kit will be provided. This course is intended for Outdoor professionals and is a good supplement to your guiding and teaching skills in the backcountry. This is a must for seasonal and full time outdoor professionals!
